Yamaha DSR 118W or QSC KW181 SUBS?

I have narrowed it down to two subs. First, Yamaha DSR 118W 800 Watt 132db max spl. Second, the QSC KW181 1000 watt 132db max spl. I could use some opinions to make my decision. The church I am installing this in currently has 2 Carvin TRx 218 subs being pushed by DCM 4000 (2000 rms x 2). Any insight or opinions would be appreciated. Thanks!

Historically, Yamaha subs have not had a good reputation. Reports on the QSC have been mixed (both subs and tops).

I've not seen anything that makes me think either sub would be better than what you have now. Of course the proof is in the listening.

Personally i am NOT a fan of active live PA speakers..i much prefer crossover to amps to passive speakers. in a permanent install get them set and leave them alone. God Bless
