More bass (lower) on 12's than my 15 inchers?

Hi: I have recently bought a pair of RCF ART 315A's which have a 15 inch driver which I bought figuring being a 15",would give me loads of bass, but it turns out, from what I have read that it's smaller brother RCF ART 312-A,which has a 12" driver and same power can go lower than my 15's. Apparantely they both use the same box,so the 15 is more cramped than the 12,so the 15 can't move freely as the 12...I dunno, sounds logical!. They both are supposed to go down to 50 hz. Anyone here have any first hand knowledge of this? Maybe I should have got the 12's instead! Thanks!

Neither will have enough clean low end to do anything other than acoustic instruments.

    Generally speaking, a 12" will have better off-axis midrange than a 15.
