midi foot controllers

Does anyone use midi foot controllers for live performing with keyboards? I'm looking at info on the Roland FC-300 and Behringer FCB1010, and they look like they could be very useful while performing, so if you also have any comments about either of those models (or others I haven't seen) please throw them in. Also, how difficult do you think it would be to get up and running with it for someone with little to no working knowledge of anything midi (like me)? Thanks.

I have an FCB-1010 that I use with a windsynth.

It's built like a tank. And it can be programed to send ANY midi command.

Takes a bit of a midi head and some head-scratching to program, but there IS a visual app out there to make it lots easier. The Yahoo fcb-1010 group is really helpful too. Once you DO get it dialed in, it'll run forever with no fiddling.

Well worth the money.

The word-on-the-street (anyone I know who has done this same comparison) is that the Roland unit is leaps and bounds easier to program than the Behringer. It also costs more.
