Looking for a good multi-track pattern sequencer

I own a Korg M3 and do not like the on-board sequencer at all. It is very tedious (linear) to work with for my style. I prefer a pattern based sequencer much like the Ensoniq gear used to have. You would lay down multi-track/layered patterns and then chain the patterns into a song. Is there anything out there like that today? I find I work best in that type of seq environment.

Would the Roland Fantom X or G series have something like this?

    Thanks.

The Elektron Monomachine is great, an MPC1000 or 5000 are great.

I'm with Carson on this one. MPCs are some of the fastest and most powerful hardware sequencers you'll find. Nothing out there is quite like the old Ensoniq sequencers.
