Problem starting ProTools 8 w/M-Audio ProFire 2626 running

I have a little problem. My start-up order is this. I turn on my ProFire 2626 interface and my HardDrive. Then my iMac. Then my monitors. Here is the problem. I start up Pro Tools, open a session and play it. No sound. If I turn my interface off and start it up while the Mac is running, I get sound. This is not good for the Mac, right? What's the problem? It wasn't always like this. Help!

It isn't a problem to power things up that way. The devices are meant to be hot pluggable so I wouldn't worry about that. Power up your mac, then your drive, then your interface.
