Advice for a sound card please

Hi everybody

First of all I'll excuse myself for my bad english but it's not my native language.

I have a question :
I've got a friend who is searching for a sound card for his computer to use with the software "Finale 2009"
He is also searching for an audio system like a 2.1 system, which can deliver a very good sound.

I'm not an expert in pro audio, so can you help me ?
