Hi, if I have an Apogee Ensemble and a PC. Will it work to connect the ensemble directly to my comuter via a sound card with spdif connectors and using Nuendo or Q Base? Using my ensemlbe as my audio interface... I already configured my ensemble with a Mac.
Thanks.
But the PC has a sound card with S/PDIF input, and he's connecting the standalone-mode Ensemble's S/PDIF output to that. How could it not work? 2-channel limit on S/PDIF, however. A PC interface that could understand ADAT fibre would give you all 8.

I ask myself the same question, Iīm trying to solve the problem, I donīt have the spdif card yet, the thing is I have a problem recording with my ensemble via spdif to my mbox. My ensemble is running in stand alone mode. But at 48 kHz, it will slow my track and lower my pitch. Iīm just looking for a solution, thatīs why Iīm posting the option of using another software rather than pro tools... And buying a pci card with spdif in. I donīt care having only two channels at the time. I just need to know if it will record at 48 kHz, with no trouble.

Yes, sorry. I misread the original post. It will work with a S/PDIF soundcard. It will not work connected directly via firewire, because there is no Windows driver, etc. We've had so many people ask that question I think I jumped to the conclusion that this question was the same. Sorry about that.
I solved the problem. The solution is in the audio midi setups in the hard drive of the Mac Computer with the Maestro software running.
Any questions on how, just ask.
Have a nice day.
