I'm building a studio to record broadcast quality audio... for a talk radio show I host. I'm contemplating the Heil PR40... and I have the base computer all set to go with Adobe Audition...
So, to get the audio from the PR40 into the PC with solid quality... where do I go from there...?
Am I missing a step here? Or will this work for me?
If you have alternatives, I'd love to hear them...
The end goal would be to broadcast live from this studio via software or ISDN but at first I would just prerecord interviews... and web-only shows and things of that nature...
If the computer has firewire, you can simply get the 1220 and add the firewire option.
You can also opt for a USB audio interface with microphone preamp for something simpler still like the US-122 from Tascam, the Audio Kontrol from NI, Fast Track Ultra from M-Audio, etc...
I can't comment on the Heil, but if you do a search, you will find more than one thread about Voice Over microphone choices (including one that's a doozy!).
