Generally speaking, when a regional, or national tour is made do most artists go with a touring company to handle the in's and out's of a tour, or is it fairly common for it to be done by the artist's or management themselves in terms of them handling the ordering of equipment, FOH and monitor mix guys, and selecting gear...or is it pretty much easier, and cheaper to use a touring company?

Really just curious if anyone has really decided to take the brunt in order to save a few bucks.
