pre amp purchase suggestions?

I'm bored with MIDI so I'm leaping into digital audio... any suggestions for an entry-level mic preamp setup (possibly with sound card)?

I just bought a Grace Design Model 101 that I'm very happy with...though I don't think it can be considered entry level. I have heard very good things about the Presonus M20 preamp.

try the Joemeek MQ3. it's a compressor/eq/preamp in one rack.

i have one, and i'm pretty satisfied with it.

What would you consider entry-level, price-wise? Are you running on a Mac or PC?
