I do love the howdy pages.. My name is Kent Clemmons. I spend my days working as an Electromagnetic Compatibility Engineer for the Navy's submarine force. I have been involved in audio for 25 years, the last 8 or 9 in live sound. Most of my work is with local acts although I did a few years at the Newport Blues Cafe in RI with acts like the Love Dogs and Sam "bluesman" Taylor. I have recently jumped into live recording (any excuse to buy new gear). I have been very impressed with the level of knowledge on these forums and the willingness of people to take time to help out. My name is Jon Mellow, i'm a drummer and i dont know **** about recording...i make HipHop beats and do some field recording and make sampler based soundscapes... sometimes i record my drums myself. I pester recording engineers for info, read Tape-op and visit forums.

Hello, my name is Larry, but all my friends call me Lz. I am a guitarist (tubes rule) I have been recording since age 16 and am now 42. My adventures have tun the gamut--4 track-8track-16-24 analog and now into the digital realm. I am not an engineer but, I do speak the language. I would consider myself to be the creative producer type.
I write both music and lyrics and love to collaborate. Myself I prefer not to catagorize music, I love all good music. There are two types of music to me, Goood and Bad! I love Microphones and vintage gear. In the studio I am the guy trying to get the performance out of an artist, trying to improve the material if need be. I love grear understand how it works but, I'd much rather work with an engineer and stay in the creaive realm where I believe I am of most use. One guy onthe right brain the other on the left. I love team work and I love people, I am truly a people person. I am here to learn, I will remain a student until I die.

I'm Steve - aka SongBank - as I'm a songwriter and singer along with being a mediocre guitar/bass player and even worse at the keys (I truly thank the music Gods for computers, loops and assorted software). Banking pays my bills and buys the toys. In younger years, I was signed to a couple of record deals while the band(s) fell apart in a mire of egos, meanwhile barely paying the rent from the publishing deal. Finally got fed up and decided to save for retirement instead of living hand to mouth...but still can't give up the passion, as it runs through the veins. Anyhow, I'm finally recording the stuff myself instead of relying on others - so my "virginosity" will require much coddling and patience.

My name is Hector! I'm into recording mostly but I always enjoy a great challenge and everything that has to do with Sound R. and recording and performing is definately a big challenge. I'm very serious into having my own little studio for this city since there isn't that much of this going on here. So far I have learned alot from everyone here and from reading other things on the net myself. I'm a music major and my applied instrument is trumpet but I enjoy playing bass and piano as well. Especially bass. Too bad this instrument is really hard to record but one day I'll get it perfect how I like it.

I'm Tom and I'm a guitar player and blues/jazz-aholic. After about a 2 year hiatus from recording I'm ready to get back to it. In my music studio I have a dedicated PowerMac G-4 (OS 10.2.4), Digi 002R, and Protools (6.1.2). I write, play, and record, mostly jazzy blues and bluesy jazz (thus "dr. bluezz"). Since I'm a guitar, not keyboard, player I use a Roland GR-33 guitar synth to record keyboard and horn/section sounds, and an Alesis SR-16 for drum sounds. I mic live guitar and vocals and record bass direct to the Digi 002R. My goal is to make the highest quality recordings possible given my system. I can't believe how fast a weekend goes while recording and how many hours you can spend just mixing a single song. But it sure is enjoyable, especially when the weather keeps me from my street rod and Harley. Anyway, just thought I'd say "hi".

Well, I'm new here but been at it for awhile. I grew up in the Chicago area and in my late 20's moved out to the San Francisco Bay area where I built a studio in my home. After living out there for 10 years I moved to Salt Lake City and having sold all my gear (ended up unemployed) just recently started getting back into it. I've played guitar for the last 40+ years, have always been into electronics and also photography.

I recently began my new home studio exploits with Sweetwater and the help of a marvelous sales engineer there by the name of Mark Magdich. Between the 2 of us we have been emptying my funds and I've been having a blast. I now have a new Korg D3200 DWR, RODE NT1-A, NT2-A and NT2000 with boom stands all around. A pair of the new EVENT ALP5 monitors, PreSonus HP4 headphone amp and Sennheiser 280Pro cans all around. A Roland Ready Strat drives a Roland GI-20 Midi head unit and a XV-2020 synth module with 2 expansion cards.(an amazing piece of gear indeed after having owned a D550 module years ago). Also a Roland/Boss D670 drum machine. All in all I'm quite addicted and enjoying every moment of the creative juices. Having been a songwriter since about 1970, and mostly an acoustic guitarist (a Martin lover) it's a treat to be able to create any sound you want. Glad to be here!

My name is Michael and I'm a true amateur yet quite the enthusiast with many aspects of music. I've played classical piano all my life and have just started to learn the great personality of the guitar (acoustic and electric). I'm also a vocalist, a trumpeter, and am learning the complexities of music production. My musical interests are vast from pure jazz, blues, and classical music to my involvement with a death metal band.

I'll be glad to hang around these forums and learn from those with more experience than I and shall endeavor to contribute what I can back to this community.
