    Cool hi!

My name is Alécio Costa. I am a musician/singer/producer/recording engineer.
I own a small digital recording studio in the south of Brazil based around Yamaha 02R/01V, Pro Tools Mix and some nice but not expensive outboard gear.

I am 32 years old. I have a background in electric engineering, specialization in power electronics ( many many time ago!!!-hehehe) and have produced over 30 CDs in the last 5 years.

Some jobs have been quite good, being exposed at GUITAR PLAYER BRAZIL , MTV as well as received some local prizes.

I have lots to learnr and like to trade experiences and tips.
I also teach a course named INTRODUCTION TO DIGITAL RECORDING SYSTEMS AND UPGRADE IN MUSICAL TECHNOLOGY. I have had lots of students but that also makes me research and learn a lot from guys like Nika, Ronny Morris, Brad B, Joe and very good friends I have met at other forums like the DUC, the prosoundweb, rec org and now very recently on here.

I generally have to deal with budget projects, so due to the situation of the dollar in Brazil very recently, things shall become quite difficult. As soon as possible, I want to upgrade my consoles to the 02R 96K and at the right moment, go from MIx plus to PTHD2.

Thanks and keep up the good job!

I'm Daniel and I live in Albuquerque NM. I have a small home studio and also do location recording for classical musicians. I'm a classically trained musician and I primarily do restoration work and archiving of old recordings and recital tapes. I use a Digi001 for input and do my work on a G-4/933. My wife is a professional classical musician ('cello) and when she's not playing, I like to chase her around the house
Nice to be here and I hope to learn more about my chosen craft and hopefully I can contribute to the group in some way

My name is Jason Caffee. I currently live in Charleston, SC. I run a recording studio. I Engineer/Mix/Produce/Write/Play, etc... I am in the process of starting a record label. I'm a bit of a newbie to the studio engineering scene, so if you need to find me, I'll be the one shivering in the corner asking God: "Why, oh why does my guitar keep picking up the freakin' radio!?!"

Hey, I'm Jimmy.. I'm in a rock band in New York.. I'm interested as much in recording sound as I am in making it.

You can't be any more of a beginner than I am. No experience whatsoever, but I'm anxious to learn already. So I'll be asking a lot of verrrrry basic questions. Thanks in advance for hearing me out.

My name is mole, I'm a guitarist and music tech student from the uk. I want to pass my course and build up both a decent home studio and a knowledge of recording techniques for recording band demo's.

no subject really, just a header

Hello I am J. I am a electronica producer/tech/engineer/all-round-audio geek. I also play guitar, bass, piano, and I have been picking up handdrumming. I have a home studio that I have put quite some time into, and I work at the institute in which I graduated from. They say that two heads are better than one, so I figure a whole forum is better than two! Im all about helping eachother out. If I can, I will help you out to the best of my knowledge, all I ask for is the same in return!
    peace...........

My name is Brian. I play a variety of conventional rock instruments i suppose you'd say - drums, bass, guitar, bit of singing. I'm looking to build a small portable studio to help bands out with recording regularly on the cheap before paying out for a real demo studio.

    I'm Cory:
Music Education graduate of Hillsdale College. After 10 years of teaching, and having it with administrators who acted like Pre-K's, I decided to give my other vocation a shot. I'm familiar with the gear the 'big guys' use, but presently cna't afford it. Have had a few successful installation in churches and community centers the past year, and have had some great projects happening in the studio. I'm the FOH and Monitir engineer at a venue called The Gospel Barn (www.gospelbarn.com) and play bass and sing tenor. My philosophy with much of what I do is "Keep it simple . . . " you know the rest. I love music, I love sound reinforcement, intallations, recording. I hate bad recording, bad reinforcement, bad installation because it make us all look bad, and the end user extremely frustrated.

Hey guys, I'm Steve. I am songwriter and singer playing in an established original rock band in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. I got bit by the home recording bug a few years ago when I wasn't playing live and ended up demoing my own stuff which is how I ended up putting a band together.

I've laid off doing my own recording as of late (we just recorded our debut cd in real studio) but I'm getting the itch to take my studio to the next level, so I'm basically here to learn what I can from those who know. As much as I enjoy playing live, I also enjoy the recording process.

If you want to give a quick listen to my band Soulville, just click on the link below. If you want to buy a cd you can do that too!......(don't you just love shameless plugs)

    Adios!

Hi, I'm Adam. I am a composer and guitarist (rock and classical). I live in Santa Cruz, CA, having completed my undergrad. BA in music at the UC here. My musical energies are now divided between writing classical, rock, electronic, and combinations of all of the above music. That as well as presently working on putting a small-scale composition studio at my house. Though more of the artist who's brain doesn't do the technical jargon and problems very well, I'm working on changing that balance a bit so I can be more of a help to myself and others with equipment.
