    Rack Kit

What rack kit is recommended for installing/providing rear support for the 4rU computer?

There are no rear rail mount points on our 4u chassis.
There are holes tapped on the sides for installing sliding drawer setup for use in a server type rack, but I don't know of any customers who've taken advantage of this feature yet.

If you do want to purchase the rails, we could special order them for you. Just talk to your sales engineer and we can get you pricing.

i was wondering this also. the creation station is pretty heavy, is there no need for some kinda of support in the back ? would just the 4 rack screws in the front be enough ?

Nope, no extra rails needed. The front ears will support all the weight.

What is the depth of the CSRack? I'm looking into having a custom rack built, but I need it to be as shallow as possible. Would a 14" or 16" deep rack be enough for a CSRack or would I need a 20"?

It's a cheesy workaround, but I have two of the original CS Racks sitting on simple rack shelves at a local radio station. Lot's less expensive than the slides.

@mhoward - you can get by with a shallow rack, but the back of the CS rack is going to stick out a long way. Recommend a deep (20") rack

The rack is almost exactly 20" deep from the ears to the back. You'll need a few extra inches for the cables to stick out the back if it's going to be an enclosed rack.

^^^ Justin - I went digging on the web site for the CS Rack series dimensions and weights and couldn't find them. Did I miss them? If not, these might be useful to have on the web site.

    For Rack models:

20" deep from faceplate to rear.
19" from rack ears to rear.
20.75" from front handles to rear.

    They're roughly 20" x 19" x 7"

Weight is about 50lbs for Fedex purposes, but that includes dimensional weight due to the box and packaging.

Physically they're around 40-45 lbs give or take depending on how many hard drives are installed and how much copper cooling is built on the motherboard of the model in question. These values can change a little as those parts are revised.
