I wonder why there is not a separate forum here for amps?......Seems to me to be almost as much a biggy as guitars?....where does one go to search out amps on this site?

Contains several forums on amps, ranging from general topics to building your own. It's heavily weighted toward the more technically inclined, but it's a great resource.
