Motu 828 Mkii

just want to know can 24I/O be daisy chained to the 828 mkII for more inputs i know it will with the 2408. I already own the 828 mkII want to add more inputs for a large live setup

I'm not sure how you would do this. The 24I/O is a PCI device and has no digital audio outputs while the 828mkII is a Firewire device.

The 828 has an ADAT port, so you can use a Motu8Pre or other ADAT interface (Focusrite OctoPre or Behringer ADA8000) to get 8 more channels.

You can also hook up multiple 828s or other Motu firewire interfaces to your system (a maximum of 3) and CueMix will see them as separate inputs.

I would STRONGLY suggest you ring up Motu and talk to them about it....

How many more inputs do you need?

For the price of a 24 i/o (which I think is usless to you because its a PCI based interface), you would be able to get two more 828's and daisy chain them together.

Or just get some ADAT interfaces.

Or, if you really want this to work right and be simple: Just buy the 24io expansions or the 2408 expansions depending on the type of connections you need. Way easier than trying to rig this.
