CS/Protools settings

My hard drive crashed and I had to do a reinstall putting protools and my plugins back in the Creation Station.
Fortunately, it wasn't as bad I thought it was going to be, BUT, the computer isn't working as good as it did before the crash.
I tweak the settings in the "playback engine" (buffer) but I'm wondering if I am missing something.
Is there a link you have to general settings for protools on the CS?

btw, the symptoms are: buffer message -9094 periodically, sound drops periodically, freezes up less periodically, slow to respond.

When you reinstalled, did you also reinstall Windows from scratch??
