Gee, Kabuchi, what kind of effect would you like? Delay? A Bass synth? A Multi-effect, or just a killer bass di?
What is your ideal price range?

That really depends on what you guys are doing. Personally, I've played for years and find I need no effects, I've used a chorus effect a little, but thats it. This area is so subjective. I suppose if you just want to tinker around with electronics, there are several multi-effects units out there, and with what he's willing to spend, I'm sure he'll find something. Just check out the major dealers online, there are a slew of floor and rack effects for bassists.
What the hell, I can't dance!
I have the GT6B. I preferred it over the BassPOD, mostly because I thought the bass synth was way cooler.
So I'd reccomend that. But, y'know. It's either that or the BassPod.
But 90% of the time, I don't use fx other than compression and the amp simulator. In fact, I could just haul my Hartke head out...(wish I had a trace GP12SMX head. Did you guys see that PEAVEY bought Trace Elliot? Holy cow...)
Actually, I have a patch setup that uses the slow gear, so sometimes I can play pads on bass. That's pretty cool, though I can't imagine it being useful for too many groups.

thanx elsteve9...
can u tell me, where do u suggest i look for those 2 effects?
thanx

Well, I would expect most music stores in the carribean would stock at least 1 of them, but you may have to shop around a bit. I don't know. In larger cities in the US, I would just go into any large music store, and try both there.
Actually, I PERSONALLY would try and find a smaller store that takes care of me, but that's my opinion.
These are both fairly common products, though, from extremely common manufacturers.

We here at Sweetwater can ship most products internationally, and in fact I have many customers in the Caribbean area. just call me and we can work out details, or at least go over which would be the better unit.
