Even different tunes change the action on the neck of a guitar.
Different string gauge results in different tension on the neck. The truss rod pressure counters thr string tension it's kind of a balance. So unless you have an usual neck your going to have to...
I have one of those epiphone limited edition midnight les paul. Traded a wore out nomad100 Mesa head for it. This guitar been used so much the bride saddles are worn down. Best playing guitar I've...
the zoot suit sg weight a ton! Les Pauls have a little bigger sound and more mids.
truss rods are easy :D

just make your tones a little less cutting, possibly a little les gain.
I have the ZW set in my 2003 Gibson Fadded SG. As long as you don't put the pickups to close to the strings it will sound great!
i was happy till i wired my passive EMG's with a starground in a fully shielded guitar body, dead quiet!
the only gibson pickups i've tried were the original 490's the fadded sg came with. i did play a Dimarzio PAF Pro and really liked it, a long time ago.
it's an SG, i think i'm just going ot have to use the passive EMG's and sell the actives. Till i find a better set. I'd liek a lead pickup that falls between the 81, and 85. bassically an 85 wiht a...
i want the quietest guitar possible, how is this achieved? i have gotten a guitar to be practically silent with passive EMG's but the active EMG's are noisy
I have 2 guitars one with 81/85 set, and one with the EMG h4/h4a passives. The passives are in a guitar with a star ground system, and the actives are using the solderless system. The actives put out...
now i'd love to see the look on someone face after wiring everything and not having a place for the battery!
the pickups come with instructions or you can go to emg's website and get the pdf for the same instructions. they r pretty easy!
I believe nerdvana used mesa boogie amps, so i'm sure if he used a DS-1 he probably used it more as a boost.
i wasn't referring to the the in the vox, but a real amp tube tone. The tube is ran about 16v i think in the Vox. All the preamp is a chip, just the power amp sounds in the Vox are tube. Experiments...
SS will never sound as good as a tube!!
the vox has a good tubeish tone for a modeling pedal. You can have great FX but if the distortion tone not good than forget it. I've not heard teh G10 just the line6 and the vox tonelab LE. I...
i agree your lucky you've not blown your amp or you board. Never do that it's a bad idea, the wrong load reflected back to the tube changes the tone.
the head is 8 and 16 ohm capatable so you would wire them in series to a 1/4th jack.
100W is louder but the 50W tube will sound way louder than the 65W SS amp. Hardly ever does someone actually need 100W tube. 100W is not twice as loud as 50W btw.
Well speaker almost all have the...
you wont like the solid state if you like the sound of tubes. Even the the line6 stuff lacks. You probably have a bad tube if the above didn't work. When i had a line6 amp i tweaked constantly and...
I run a lab of machines mostly G5, some new intel imacs, and a few intel laptops with leopard. I don't have any of your problems, but i only do fresh installs and keep my software updated. Have you...
which is perfect if you play acoustic guitar straight into the sound board, and there is no sound man to mute your channel.
