I've never been a true fan of direct outs from acoustic guitars for tracking purposes though. Maybe I'm being TOO picky though.

Stick with Pro Tools LE (or M-Powered if you so choose). It's the industry standard for a reason! I've used a few other DAW programs but PT has always had my heart. PT will rarely ever let you down!

I don't see any problem with that at all. Just make sure it's not pirated. If it is, problems are inevitable.
