I hope someone can help. I have been working for about six months on an album wuth my band, and the ADAT tape I been using somehow(goddamn evil elves)
got the Timecode erased off of it. Has this ever happened to anyone else. I used the tape the night before then 12 hours later it won't play. I have a fairly new ADAT LX20. I don't have a backup because I only have one machine, so this is a very pressing matter. Thank You for Your Help:confused:

One thing I learned from when I was running ADATs... COPY YOUR TAPES COPY YOUR TAPES COPY YOUR TAPES COPY YOUR TAPES... ;-( Sorry that this isn't the best advice, but I can't tell you how many tapes I lost before I finally learned. Tapes go bad real quick... I swear, I still wake up in the middle of the night thinking of ERROR 7 ! ;-)

My Statio uses 2 M20's and I've used the "lock and release" mode of sync when I have SMPTE T.C. errors/losses, but maybe your talking ABS? High error rate/machine shut down? Also, what brand of tape? I've had no issues with hig error/bad sections with Maxell. BASF sometime....Quantegy....I'd rather not comment.
