I'm working on setting up a modest home studio and i've been doing some research on several things. I'm plan on using pro tools but I'm still new at it.
At first I was looking at the digi002 LE system. However after some more researching I found the M-powered software and the M-audio project mix control surface (which together is a bit cheaper than going with the digi002.) Is the M-powered system inferior to the LE system in anyway aside from the particular bells and whistles the digi002 might have over the project mix? As long as there is not a huge difference, it would be nice to spend the little saved $$ on something else, say monitors.
Also, I plan on buying a decent preamp strip after I get the core of the studio set up, how would this work with things like the project mix/digi002.
