Autotune

Uh, I have a "friend" that is in need of an Autotune box. Does anyone know if there is a specific mic that is needed to use Autotune or will any microphone work?

If I had the wherewithall to pay for such a mic I would buy it in a heartbeat...but a very good question indeed.

Autotune, and similar products, work with just about any monophonic (as opposed to polyphonic) source. The mic doesn't matter. It can even be a guitar, bass or keyboard as the source.

In recording most people apply them to tracks after they've been recorded.
