I'm currently looking for an inexpensive (below $100) solution for connecting my mixer's RCA outs to my soundcard without the noise from it's cheap preamp. The Edirol UA-1 interface jumped out at me, offering a pair of RCA ins and outs, then transferring to the computer with USB. What are your thoughts on the quality of this device? Will my recordings contain less hiss by bypassing my Soundblaster PCI128's noisy preamp and inputs? Due to my slower computer (see the specs below), would the audio skip or cut out during recording? Thanks for your help.
