I'm trying to start a business with a friend (I
know, not a good idea), and I have some software/
hardware questions. I'm a Mac man and have a G3,
MOTU 1224 and Deck II editing software. My friend
has a PC with no audio editing software or
hardware whatsoever. He also has very little money.
Can someone tell me the least expensive way for
him to get started? Neither one of us uses MIDI.
He would only need a basic multi-track editing program and a way to get analog/digital sound into and out of his computer. Any help would be appreciated.

I just checked out the site. The program looks great. I can't believe the price. It says it works with standard PC soundcards. Is there an inexpensive but dependable soundcard you can recommend? Even if you can't, thanks for this tip.
It's just what we're looking for.

Two other sound cards:
Audiophile 24/96 or ECHO MIA

definately worth a look... either sells for a little under $200

All sound cards mentioned seem to be good choices, however none of them appear to have mic preamps. Only important if you need them. THat of ocurse only adds to the price.
