View Full Version : MBox Latency workaround w/an external mixer?

I have been told that there is a way to eliminate latency by using an inexpensive external mixer routed somehow to the mbox. Any advice on how to avoid latency while tracking with an mbox would be greatly appreciated.

Latency with the M-Box while not zero is controlable.

How much of a problem is it for you? (how much latency?)

How are you setting up for recording and monitoring?

In many ways the M-Box IS a mixer. That is to say it monitors from the M-Box itself NOT the software

while recording you can always assign pro tools to operate in low latency mode, this greatly reduces the latency, and disengages aux sends etc while tracking. also lower your bufffer size in the playback engine window...

NO.....

The M-Box does NOT operate that way. It is a greatly misunderstood monitoring device.

The M-Box (as I said earlier) monitors from the hardware box itself not the software as is the case with the 001 and the 002.

Playback and overdubs can be combined as output for monitiring much as a Mackie 1202 would acomplish.
