PZM mic

I don't own much equipment, but I try to buy the best I can afford. I've done a number of news interviews with the HHB Portadat, using two Countryman EMW lavalier mics. I can foresee times when there are going to be a number of people in a room and I want to be able to pick them all up. That's why I'm in the market for a PZM mic with an XLR input. Can someone tell me the best unit out there and if these mics are really as good as I hear?

P.S. Would it be possible to plug both XLR-terminated lavaliers into some type of "Y" connector and feed both into one of the Portadat's XLR inputs, thereby leaving the other XLR open for the PZM?
