I know there's a lot of bitching going on about it right now, bbut it still seems like a decent upgrade to me. Midi? 4 channel simultaneous record? And especially BFD lite? Are you kidding me? If everything sounds the same/better than the first version, it seems like a no-brainer.

They haven't begun shipping yet. We've had one in-house, but it's not for sale. A large quantity of them are supposed to arrive here sometime in the next week or two.

I know they just announced it. I didn't figure anyone owned one yet. But I did figure some Sweetwater folks may have gotten to tinker with it, and I was curoius to know what the first expert opinions were. Well, you guys had one... What'd you think?

I just received my MBox 2, roughly two weeks ago after I upgraded from the org. MBox(I had it for only 3/4 weeks) and could'nt justify keep it when the new one was coming out with the new plug-ins and such. Now to the heart of the matter:

It works beautifully, with no hang ups so far. I'm fairly new to PROTools all together, but did a great deal of research on my own and with the great support from Sweetwater (Thanks Bob & Scott, my heroes  )

My set up is the following:
Apple eMac G4, 1.42GHz, 1gig RAM, 80GB HD, 160GB external HD, Mbox 2 6.8, KORG microKONTROL, BehrINGer's TRUTH B2031A monitors, BehrINGer BCF2000 fader and BehrINGer B-1 condensor mic. Software: PROTools 6.8 LE, Reason 3.0, LIVE 4.1.4 and Melodny Uno. (Modest low-end setup, yet powerful).

The MBox 2 software/set-up runs smoothly and I'm glad that I did invest in it... looking forward to the LE 7.0 upgrade later today.
The PT LE system in my opinion is more than just for the "Hobbist", it is a full blown pro. system, it just depends on how much/soon you learn it.

Just last week I got hired to produce a complete soundtrack for a independent movie, off of a trailier I produced. Movie due out early spring (MAR/APR. 2006). You get out what you put in it.:classic:

So did you trade in your old m-box for the second one? If it's possible, how much would it cost me to do something like that? I don't want anything if it's severely out-dated. Hell I just bought my original M-box in June this year.
