Yamaha AW-2816 Interface alternatives?

Does Yamaha (or other) make an interface that
allows my PC to control all the internals of
the AW-2816?

I'm just beginning to learn how to use this
machine (my last box was the Tascam PortaStudio
246) and in general the operation requires
me to recall every scrap of understanding of a
big time pro studio - patching, sends, buses,
wow!

The basic resistance I am having to diving in
to it is the LED interface - 4"x6" of glowing
mystery, with the cursor keys and enter key,
it feels like doing word processing on a Texas
Instruments calculator.

Any suggestions, alternatives, "get something
else cause it's way easier" appreciated - though
I am in the under 2.5K budget range ...
