athlon processors and motu cards

i built myself a nice athlon 1.4ghz system and would really like to buy a motu 2408 and 24i but i've heard many rummors that these cards aren't compatible with the amd processors.

This was a problem early on, but has since been resolved. You should fine.

The issue is not with the processor but the chipset on the motherboard. MOTU suggest you
use a motherboard with an Intel chipset. Most athlon processors use a motherboard with a Via
chipset. The only Via chipset motherboard combination that has seemed to work is the
K266-plus I will.
