I am using a Digi001 / PT LE system and recently downloaded some Bombfactory demos. I noticed that a "key input" feature within the plug-in. Can anyone give me some insight into what exactly this feature does and how to use it?
Thanks!

i dont know anything about those particular plugins/fx, but i have a TC fx pack which includes a key input. basically this allows the TC compressor to have a sidechain input. you set the key input on the channel you want to be controlling the compressor, and you set the actual compressor on the channel you want to have the effect on. so the sound running into the key input effects the compressor, which then compresses the other channel.
This is usually referred to as "ducking", and there are several interesting scenerios possible with a sidechain.

Side chain, ducking?, I am guessing that if you wanted for example, a really loud guitar part in the mix that didn't totally cover a vocal, you could trigger the compressor to limit the guitar track when the vocal was present. I would also assume then that you would need to control the depth and recovery time to make it as transparent as possible. It reminds me of some radio talk show programs where the host might use a simular technique to prevent a caller from over-talking him/her. I can immagine some other cool things to try with this effect like using the kick to trigger a bass part level. Now I have to figure out how to do it with my akai dsp12.
