I am about start recording using a PC and want to get enough "power" to handle any type of recording issues, up front.

I plan to start using VST/DirectX, & maybe N-track, Acid Music, & Fruity Loops unless some higher end stuff offers more features.

Any suggestions on what PC performance I need?

Thanks,
Tye

Most any new PC will have enough preformance to get you started. I would recommend a Pentium 3 gigahertz processor, and at least 256MB RAM, and 2 hard drives, running at 7200RPM

Plug-ins eat processor time, so the more of those you run, the more you need, Track count eats hard drive preformance, but the system described above should be plenty to keep you going for quite awhile.
