Well, I have this stuff picked out. I'm wondering if any of you have had bad results with any of it? Also, I need a IDE CD burner too? Can someone recommend one to me that is solid? I don't care too much about its speed, I just don't want errors, damnit!

Tyan TigerMP dual AthlonMP motherboard
AMD AthlonMP 1900+ (just released today!) (x2)
Western Digital WD1000 8Meg hard drive (x2)
MOTU 24i core (upgrading to 1296 soon-ish)
2G PC2100 RAM (x4 512MB sticks)
Windows 2000 Pro (99% sure of SP2, also)

I'm thinking about going with NTFS for the audio drives, and a PCI ATA100 controller for some other drives that would be used for moving stuff around. And I'm absolutely sure what OS hard drive I'm going to use, but that doesn't have a huge impact anyway. For a videocard I'm going to get a dual monitor one like the Matrox g400 or 450. I don't need DVI, so I'm just getting analog ones.

Well, I was looking for some comments, so get the gun, get the gun, shoot shoot shoot!

Nice setup. :D I would stick with FAT32 on the audio disks, no need for the extra overhead of NTFS. I wish some of the DAW manufactures would come out with a custom format tweaked for audio, it would save a lot of headaches. As for a CD-Writer, Yamaha just came out with a new one with some cool new features to minimize errors. You can read a review at Tom's Hardware (http://www.tomshardware.com) Getting the Dual-head to work on the matrox cards can be a pain, make sure and download the current drivers from matrox.

BeFS for BeOS is the best file system ever! Its supports HDs bigger than all the hard drive space of all the hard drives in the world put together.
