Cheap software till after x-mas

i'm getting a digi 001 and a computer after x-mas when i get some more money, but is there a cheap program that on my Sony Vaio with windows xp until then?

I would recommend trying ProTools Free. Don't waste dollars buying into software that won't get you anywhere in any situation. Don't ever buy more than you're actually going to use. PT Free would also get you familiar with the system you are planning on getting into.
