I'm using a MOTU 896 with Digital Performer 4.12 and it's working well except for the headphone outputs. Even when I'm just using the 896 to listen to Quicktime files or iTunes, etc, the headphone jack is completely useless... there is a switch on there to change between the headphones only and the Main Out + phones, but when I switch to headphones only, the volume to the mains INCREASES and the phones still are dead... just to clarify, I'm not confusing the headphone jack with the Footswitch jack....

I just downloaded the latest version of the driver (version 1.21), but the problems persist. It works exactly like it's supposed to under OS 9 and DP 3.1, so what gives? It seems to me that this must be a driver issue, but what else can I do besides install the most recent driver? Has anyone else encountered this?

Thanks.

I'm running OS 10.3.7 on a G3 iBook.

Sounds like you have an issue with a defective unit that needs to be either repaired or replaced. Contact Sweetwater's tech support department for details. (You did purchase it at Sweetwater, right? - If not, call MOTU.)

This is an incredibly late reply, but for anyone else who has this problem and sees this, they should check their CueMix Console. There is actually a routing scheme in one of the menus for the Phones output. Make sure that things are set correctyly in there; with the wrong setting there will be nothing coming out of the phones.

also make sure that in the MOTU audio console the Phones is assigned to phones1-2 and not anaolog 1-8 or adat 1-8
