EVERYTHING SEEMS TO BE GOING FINE WITH ALL THE MANUFACTERS DOING THE IR BEST TO GIVE BETTER AND NEWER INSTRUMENTS TO US. IS IT THE BEST THEY CAN DO? OR IT COULD HAVE BEEN BETTER FOR US KEYBOARDIST'S TO HAVE THE OPPURTUNITY TO BE EQUIPED WITH A KEYBOARD THAT WOULD ALLOW US DO GO FURTHER THAN SOUND PROGRAMING AND THE FUNDAMENTAL OPPERATIONS OF A SYNTHESIZER?!!
IMAGINE GENERATING SCENES FROM YOUR KEYBOARD COMBINING TO YOUR MUSIC PLAYED,E.X. MISTER RUDESS GOING THROUGH THE HOLE DREAM THEATER WORLD TOUR WITH HIS VIDEODELIC ANIMATION DURING THE SHOW.THE NEXT STEP, ALWAYS TO MY OPINION, IS FOR THE MANUFACTERS TO GO WAY FURTHER ON, CONSIDERING THAT MUSIC IS A PICTURE OF THOUSAND WORDS COMPILED INTO A PERSON'S MIND.THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME...

All the synth makers basically cater to their respective marketing departments who, in turn, DO NOT survey the target market they are trying to sell to. Hence you have ad nauseum copies of things that began ten or twenty years ago. What I would like to see is the people making synth's to incorporate ALL of the currently available technology into one "super synth" with NO REDUNDANCY{read no GMBS}, split it to 3 sizes{61,76, and 88 keys} and make millions. For instance: 128TRUE note POLYPHONY,32part Multitimbrality, A 32 track sequencer with dedicated FX processor, a sophiticated drum machine with loop/divide functions, a 48 pattern programmable arpeggiator, ROM BRD Expansion option, a thousand+ USABLE sound waveforms and a set of real-time control knobs {assignable} for manipulation of basic synth parameters, and some 24bit outs on TRS and coax. Put all that into one frame and every pro player in the world would want one, not to mention the intermediate and beginner markets as well. This is what real musicians ask for time and time again. Enough rip-offs and compromised designs already. Give us something we could actually use! Oh yeah, touchscreen technology would be nice too.

And what would be the price tag for something like this Radman?? How much would a beginner or a pro be willing to spend for the ultimate synth??

THERE'S A POINT THERE!!!MOST RECOGNIZED AND PRESTIGIOUS KEYBOARDISTS DON'T PAY FOR THEIR EQUIPMENT!THAT'S A FACT AND WHEN IT COMES TO BUY AN INSTRUMENT SUCH AS THE "KURZWEIL K2600X AES" YOU HAVE TO SPEND ABOUT 20.000$!!BUT THE ASPECT OF BEING A COMMON TASK AND STANDARD FOR ALL SYNTHESIZER MANUFACTURES TO CREATE AN INSTRUMENT LIKE THAT WOULD ENDORSE COMPETITION AND LOWER THE COST OF PURCHASING AN INSTRUMENT LIKE THAT...
I DON'T KNOW IT COULD BE THE OTHER WAY AROUND ALSO...

Such an animal could be made to list {street}for anywhere from 2.5k to 4k if made in mass quantities and I would certainly be making every effort to get me one as soon as it came out. If it had the features I wanted, I wouldn't flinch at spending up to 5K to get an 88 key semi-weighted board with all the goodies mentioned in the previous post. I also suspect many would sacrifice gear already owned to get something of this caliber. The REALLY tough decision would be to go with 61,76 or 88 keys! I am not holding my breath...
