View Full Version : Synchronization...I have issues

Here's what I'm using:
Computer A with Logic 4.7 (win98, 1 gig Intel III, big HD)
Computer B with GigaStudio (ditto)
Delta 1010 with AI on "A"
Wavecenter PCI on "B"
Various sound modules.

What I usualy do is record several midi tracks, then try to convert them to audio. The midi goes fine. To get them to audio, i have the sequence play the various tracks, one by one, into the AD converters of the 1010.

This usually works fine with the first track...BUT, when I try a second track, I get a message proclaiming "cannot synchronize midi to audio. Continue or accept." If I hit continue, it keeps playing, but pops back up every few seconds. If I hit accept, everything comes to a halt, and I have to start over.

Also, the more tracks I do, the more everything drifts out of sync. The midi tracks are tight, but the audio sounds like drunken deaf players.

Basically, I do not really want my audio synched to midi (at least I don't think I do...) I just want the signal recorded that enters the AD converters. Everything is already in sync.

I have literally tried every setting in the control panel in Delta and the setup dialig in Logic. Same results.

One other thing, when I select "word clock" in the Delta Dialog, I get lots-o-feedback.

Can anybody help me get this worked out. Maybe some type of synchronization hardware is what I need? I thought that MTC was adequate, but I'm not really sure (?)
