View Full Version : Line 6 port vs v amp2??
I feel sorry for asking this stupid question. But would need to obtain feedback from the both groups of user. My main concern is sound quality for recording & live as well.

v-amp2.
hands down.
this thing rates right up there with the podxt, from what i have heard myself and seen on websites.
the only advantage of the guitar port is downloadable sounds (direct into the USB port), but if you go here:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/V-AMP
youll find THOUSANDS of sounds for the v-amp 2, and it also has a NICE editor utility for PC and MAC.
there is a huge variety with the 32 amps, and if you want digital i/o, the v-amp 2 pro is STILL cheaper.
I use it for everything, the only sim that comes close to my real amps. (after trying podxt, j-station, sansamp, amplitube and guitar rig)

ooo wait!!!
theres the vox tone lab.
now THAT is a nice unit. It is definetly better than the v-amp2 or pod, but is pretty expensive.
as far as v-amp, the live sound is great, right thru a PA!! no amp or anything is needed, but if you do have a guitar ammp, theres special settings to bypass the cab emulation.
what type of sounds are you looking for?

Hi,
I am not specifically looking for anykind of sound, coz it depend on the type of songs i deal with. I need to have signal that is fat & clean enough when get thing recorded; i was told the pod noise gate is awesome, on the other hand, i read reviews that v amp2 will produce hiss when turn to high volume output, have u ever experience that??

not anymore than a real amp would, definetly less than that.
one thing that beginniners sometimes dont realize is that CRT monitors make more noise than anything, and they stand right in front of them with their guitars on and their marshall preset and ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ
...
lol
thats the only noise i can think of, and that comes with the territory..
stand back from CRTs, and the sound is nice and clean.
if there IS some noise, the v-amp2's gate rocks :) at high or low levels.
