will nuendo and cubase work fine (that's bug free...) on a g4, 400 mhz, with motu 2048 mkII and motu time piece a/v? is there a substantial difference in quality between the above configuration and steinber's i/o 96khz/time lock pro? (price wise there's over $2000 difference!!)

nothing is bug free.

stienberg hardware is essentially RME.

what rme? this might be an obvious question, but i'm new to all this... then, is there a substantial quality gap between both harwares?

tough to say. i haven't a/b'd the two myself (though one of these days i do plan on doing a converter shoot-out)

i can't remember which interface the System 1 is bundled with - RME's hammerfall is pretty nice. up to 52ins simult, with some syncing options as well.

bottom line, they're both good systems. they both sound good.

if you come across some specs on any motu stuff, let me know because i haven't seen ANY technical data on their stuff to date!
