I am still learning Pro Tools LE 6.1. I can't figure out how to get the mp3 bounce to disk command to work - a dialogue box comes up saying the "Codecs" folder cannot be found within the Pro Tools folder.
Thanks for any suggestions!

try reinstalling pro tools...and when it asks you which you are doing "repair, remove, or install" choose repair...then choice advanced setup...and make sure you have mp3 option and mp3 export checked, if they are there. otherwise, the dll wont install in the pro tools folder. you only get a 30 days trial version of it with LE too...so you might have just not installed it, or maybe your trial period is up.

Thanks for the advice. I talked to the Digi Tech support guy this morning and it looks like I will have to buy the $20 mp3 option after the demo runs out.
Thanks again!

Hey!!! I have been having the same problem and couldn't find a solution for it. Then I saw this. Thanks!!!!
Once you get the MP3 Bounce option did every thing work O.K.????
Can you put the MP3 bounce right on the internet???? or is it more involved then that???
Thanks once again!!!!

Hello!
I am still using the demo MP3 bounce option that came with the original software. Digidesign gives you a month to use the free demo. After that you go to the digistore and order the full mp3 bounce option for $20. I think you can download the full version.
The demo mp3 option has been working perfectly. I bounced several audio comedy skits into mp3s and then FTPd them on to my website:
www.mbayaudio.com.
The mp3s are then downloadable for free for whoever goes to the site.

So once you do the MP3 bounce it's good to go????
What is the "FTPd" thing you talked about???
You will have to fill me on the tricks and details of doing this???
Some one said if you do it as a mono summed file it will work better becasue it's a smaller file.
I read the Pro Tools manual and there is a lot of options to choose when it comes to an MP3 bounce. Have you found that some work better then others????
I checked out your website. It's really funny. You got some great stuff!!!!!

Hi again!
Once you do the mp3 bounce, then you have a audio file sitting on your desktop ready to be put to a website. I don't know much about the different mp3 players available like the iPod, but I think once a audio file is in mp3 format it can also be transfered to any mp3 player.
I use the mp3 files on my website since they download the quickest - a good compresssed audio file for the web. So the FTP thing is short for "File Transfer Protocol" which is a technique for putting files onto your website. If you use a web editor (like Dreamweaver) to create a web page, then you FTP that file to your website host.
All the mp3 bounces I have done turned out well. I have only been bouncing mono files so I don't know what the other types of bouncing are like.
Thanks for checking out my website! I am trying to market the Little Dick Duck character to animation developers etc. - or maybe for weekly radio comedy skit syndication.
