I need a good soundcard and monitor set for my 1999 Mac G4. It's running Panther 10.3.3 (most recent update) and the most recent version of Digital Performer, 4.12. I don't want to spend too much for a sound card or beginner set of monitors. I was looking at the "Samson Resolv 80a" or "Samson Resolv 2.1" monitors for a monitor setup, and haven't made up my mind. Am I better off getting a monitor system without a subwoofer? Which will give me a more realistic mix out of these two choices? Anyone with experience with these monitor setups, your advice would be highly appeciated.
As far as a sound card goes, advice here would be real helpful as well. I've read a ton of reviews this week at various sites, with alot of people running into problems with cards for Macintosh and their affiliated software. I do know i don't want to drop more than 100-200 on a soundcard, not at the moment anyway.
