i clicked the autoupdater for firmware a while back, ever since, pro tools has been freezing whenever i hit record. ive uninstalled and reisntalled pro tools, the mbox drivers, pace system files, etc, a bunch of times, on different hard drives, and anything else i could think of. i dont understand how, if everything has been whiped clean, then re-installed, that it doesnt work, even if when i updated it was corrupt or sumthing, cuz it should have undone it, right? anyone got any ideas on wat could be causing the computer to still freeze up?

You might want to start at updater, that could be the cause of the problem. So uninstall updater and try again, and when your done re boot your computer......I'm not a computer guy, but it should fix your problem.
Good Luck!!

that was the first thing i thought of doing
but unfortunately, that computer, has lost access to the internet (wireless card acting gay) so I cant really try that idea out...i cant find any versions of firmware on the pro tools site for xp/pc either...so i cant download them on this computer...than bring them onto the other via disc. i was hoping there might be a way to undo the installation from the registry or sumthing similar that would whipe it entirely clean, so i could reinstall fresh.

Did you update your operating system to a version unsupported by PTLE? One thing they stress on Mac OS is to turn off all automatic software updates to avoid an incompatability issue. Just a thought.

i'm running windows xp
and you need service pack one for it to even work
so i doubt me updating more than that will effect it
