This might sound a little like venting, but there might be something else at work here that I haven't thought of.

My monitor mix at church is on a second channel. I am on drums behind a plexi screen, and it's like being in another room, so a good strong monitor is vital.

Every Sunday, it is the same thing. The monitor is way too low, and every Sunday, I have to ask the sound guy to turn it up, up, up. This is making me look like a tool, having to ask the same thing every week. I really don't understand why anyone would mess with a 2nd pot on the board and a mix that doesn't affect anyone else. The plexi screen works on masking my monitor volume as well.

So I have two possibilities: 1, and the most obvious, someone is messing with the board from Sunday to Sunday for reasons beyond what I can fathom.
and 2: I want to be able to either rule this out or fix it, can there be that much difference within the PA EQUIPMENT itself from week to week, WITHOUT anyone's meddling?

Your plexi screen isn't going to block all your monitor wash into FOH. The best solution for you would be a headphone feed with a Buttkicker on your throne so you feel the bass guitar and your kick drum better. Then you and the FOH guy won't have to worry about how loud your monitor mix is with everyone else.
And greatest benefit of all, protect your hearing.

Check to make sure your monitor feed is pre-fader. If it isn't, then whatever changes are made to the faders will effect your monitor feed. You may already know this. I would also use a wax pencil or something to mark where your monitor levels are after playing or write them down and then check them before you play the next time and see if they have been moved. You never know who is around the board all week. I know what you mean by gremlins though. I've had a mix totally change between 1st and 2nd service and that's just in a 20 minute time period!
