Hi guys,
I have an audiomedia III (Windows, Version = not fussy) and want to buy pro tools software. I seen the following item on sweetwater
"Digidesign Pro Tools LE 6.2 upgrade".

and was wondering if the disk contains the following items:
-----------------------------------------
"6.1.1 for Windows XP for Digi 002, Digi 002 Rack, Digi 001, Mbox, and Toolbox (Audiomedia III) systems."
--------------------------------------------

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Regards,
Brian Gardiner.

you cannot buy the protools software separate from their hardware. some of the items that you asked if they were "included on the disk" are hardware pieces. they are too BIG to fit on a disk. :) also, that is an UPGRADE, meaning you have to own a previous version to buy the "upgrade".

I know that some of it is hardware.
I have an AudiomediaIII Card
I need the software to run on the Audiomedia.
The product I mentions says Quote
"This upgrade takes Pro Tools users (who DO NOT already own Pro Tools version 6.0) up to version 6.1. This is for Windows XP and Mac OS X."

My quesation is if it contains 6.1.1 for Windows XP for Toolbox (Audiomedia III) systems.

I know that yopu can buy software seperatly, the question is does the disk contain the software I am after.

Brian Gardiner.

Actually, when you purchase the upgrade to version 6 (or above) you are getting the full version of the software. The issue for most people, is that the software will not boot up without a piece of Digidesign hardware in the system, which is why it's commonly understood that you can't purchase just the software. In your case, since you already have the hardware, you can purchase the "upgrade" and get the ProTools software. For the Audiomedia III card, you will need Windows XP, and will actually need ProTools version 6.1.1. If you purchase the 6.2 upgrade, once you have registered it, you can download the older version of the software to work with that card.
