M-AUDIO AUDIOPHILE 2496 PCI DIGITAL AUDIO CARD

ROLLS GCI404 DIGITAL COMPUTER INTERFACE (hooks up to a standard sound card)

im trying to keep it under $150.

Terratec DMX 6Fire is better than Audiophile in every respect. I'm not sure of the American price. Here in Europe it comes for practically the same money as Audiophile.

i heard someone talk about this but wanted to see if its true, but can you hook monitors up to the m-audio Delta 44 interface so you wouldnt need a amp since it is hooked up to your computer and the computer would be used as the power source???

not unless you have powered monitors (amps built in the speakers). you will need some sort of amplifier.
