Mackie1604 Vs. A & H WZ16:2DX

I know most everyone is on the A & H side of this one, but I'm about to purchase and just wanted to hear some last minute advice. I think the Midas is a bit out of my price range unless any one knows were to get a nice, used one!! (or any other nice board around the $1000 range)

I'm using this for my band and I am doing the FOH & monitor mixing myself; on-stage. I'm leaning to the A & H (we can all have our own monitor mix!!!)

Thanks in advance for any replies!!! I don't post much here, but I have gained a wealth of knowledge through you guys; THANKS!!!

I forgot to add, I do record to a D1600 and use the mixer pre's when I have a lot of mics running; so noise is an issue.

Pick one.
Notice especially the DDA CS3's.
I'm not sure if it's as good as a 'real' dda, but I'm sure it's better than a mixwizard.

Hey thanks for the reply. I went to the DDA site and did some reading. I do have a few questions and maybe you know the answers.

1. This company no longer makes mixing boards but is a sister company to Midas. Would Midas be able to fix any problems?

2. What did you mean by "real" DDA; are you talking of their higher end stuff?

3. Would I need a power converter to use it here in the States?

I'll leave it there for now. Thanks a mil for any help.

Yeah. The CS3, from what I understand, is the DDA equivalent to a midas venice. I mean that it fits in their line in the same way. It's like a squier to a fender.
But it's probably still good.
But that's the only answer I have for you.
Sorry,

Stephen
