View Full Version : software to transpose music
I need help in finding simple ways to transpose music for other instruments. Our church band usually has music for keyboard and guitar, but seldom can get music for the C, Bb, and Eb instruments (horns)for many of our songs. Is there software available that can help with this?? We have a lot of young school band musicians that could play with us if we could give them music, and not have to tranpose it "by hand". Any help is appreciated!

Try out a great piece of notation software that I'm using:
Melody Assistant from www.myriad-online.com
It works on PC or Mac, is a great notation program and does your tranpositions. Also makes great print-outs for you to hand out your music and looks profressional. Best of all.... it's only $18.
Great software. Check out the demo on their website.

Dear Tim,
You can also try Igor Engraver, our new notation software. It lets you choose between circa 300 instruments, so you can input your music in one key, and then copy that music to an instrument which is tuned in the key you like. In other words, you don't even have to change clefs or the like. The printouts you get are the best in the business.
Igor Engraver lists for USD 295, but there is a USD 100 discount for churches and schools. Best of all - you can try it out 30 days for free, and actually copy some of your music before you have to decide whether Igor Engraver is the right product for you or not. You can download it from www.noteheads.com.
Best,
