Stupid Pro Tools LE question

Hi folks,

A newbie here with an incredibly stupid Pro Tools LE question:

Is there a preference setting that will allow you to launch Pro Tools LE without having it attached to my Digi 002R? I'd like to be able to work on mixes without having to drag the entire setup around.

Is this possible?

Yup, Digi does make some of the biggest software dongles in the industry :) Unfortunately you will need a ProTools interface to use the software. A lot of guys with 002s will grab an MBox for just these situations. It's not too late to catch Santa!

So there's absolutely NO WAY for me to work on a session without having the 002 hooked up to my laptop?

Well...there is one way. You can try it out and see if it does what you need. It's a pretty limited version of Pro Tools you can download. You can do basic editing on it.

but you need to be running an ancient computer in order for pro tools free to be compatible...last I checked PT Free didn't work under OS X or WinXP...only works in OS 9 on a mac or Windows 98 on a PC.
