just curious if there are any Gigasampler/studio users out there.
if so, what do you think of it? better than an outboard sampler or no?
i have the LE version..which sux cause you only get 28 sounds...blah is what i say...but im looking into upgrading it...they got a special for a couple weeks and its only around $150 to get the studio version with 160 samples...i think.

Giga studio is certainly a less expensive option than most outboard samplers. You have to have a soundcard with multiple outputs to make full use of the giga. The great thing about the giga is that you can buy presampled sounds sampled buy expert samplers and they do these things in state of the art studios and/or conditions and use advanced miking techniques so they sound really good, much better than if you did the samples yourself. Alot of the sounds on the sound libraries sound superior to many keyboard sounds. The catch is that the sound libraries are very pricey. 100-250 a pop! The numbers that go along with the title (Gigastudio 32,96,160) does not signify the amount of sound s you get, the numbers signify the amount of polyphony you get per sound. So the softeware itself doesnt come with many sounds. The whole idea is that youre supposed to buy the extra sounds. There are tons of sound libraries on the market to choose from. Gigastudio also converts Akai s1000 and s3000 disks. And there is a software called "The Translator" that would enable you to convert samples from the sound library of just about evrey sampler out there. The software is only about 100 bucks. If you have anymore questions feel free to holla at me.
