[COLOR=darkblue][FONT=arial][SIZE=3]Has anyone successfully connected the Mackie D8b to Tascam DA-88's? I am trying to and need some help. INFO: My D8b has 3 DIO cards, the TDIF cables are hooked to the DA-88's, the BNC cable from the first DIO is hooked to the word sync of the master DA-88. The Master DA-88's id is 0, and the others are 1, 2. The midi cables from the D8b CPU are correctly hooked to the SY-88 card in the master DA-88. The proper sync cables are hooked to the other DA-88's. The DA-88's and SY88 all have version 4.1 eproms. The D8b is set with Internal Time clock and the master DA-88 is set to receive Word Clock and Digital info on the front panel.
PROBLEM: When I activate the D8b Locator Buttons, the DA-88's respond properly depending upon what the instruction is given, ie., play, rewind, etc, however; the D8b's time remains all zeros. Also, I do not get a signal to the DA-88's when in record ready mode. The SY-88 card settings: S1; pins 2 and 5 are up. S2; all opins are up. HELP me Please! What am I omitting that will give me full control of the DA-88's?

Call TASCAM support and ask for Jackson. He knows the DA-88/SY-88 inside and out.
They also have a D8B floating around somewhere that he can dig out if needed.

Hello again Tascam JACE, I talked to Tascam Tech Support today and got some information about how to setup both SY-88 switches and important info how to sync the D8b and DA-88's. Thanks for the information!
