Now, really guys. If I am able to get everything done in Cool Edit that I need to do, will Cubase SX actually sound noticeably better?
Also, what other benefits would I get from upgrading?
Thanks for your help,
Stephen

Ther is nothing wrong with Cool Edit, but as a user who has used both, Cubase is FAR more advanced than Cool Edit. You may not need the extra features that it offers, but you will never look back after learning and running a few sessions in Cubase SX. AS far as it sounding better, that is all up to how the user does things. The Cubase SX interface is laid out far more intuitively, and VST runs native. The automation is better, as well as all third party suport. The midi is much nicer than Cool Edit as well (does Cool Edit even do much midi?). There are probably literally hundreds of reasons to change to Cubase SX, but there is a chance that for you, it is not a necessity. Like I said, You won;t regret it. Maybe start with Cubase SE, and if you want, later upgrade to SX. SE + the upgrade is actually $1 cheaper than buying SX outright:D
